Cupping
30 minutes 60 minutes
Cupping dates back from Chinese, Egyptian and Middle Eastern cultures.
The process involves placing heated glass cups along the meridian path of the body or on any tight muscles. The skin is gently pulled upwards which allows the toxins to be released and the blockages to be cleared. The cups are generally left on the skin for up to 10 minutes depending on the area being treated.
Cupping may leave marks on the skin which may stay from 2 days up to 1 week depending on the underlying issue.
Cupping works in a similar way to acupuncture moving the lymphatic system to loosen tight muscles, increase blood flow and relax the qi. Cupping is a good deep tissue treatment which brings the client to feel a deep sense of relaxation.
Helps with :
- Relieving back and neck pain
- High blood pressure
- Migraines
- Anxiety
- Respiratory conditions eg asthma and colds
- Cellulite can also be treated by applying oil to the skin and moving the cups around the affected area
Myofascial Cupping
Myofascial Cupping is different from cupping. The process works with the fascia. An advanced massage technique which is good for chronic problems when massage does not last.
Fascia is a connective tissue covering every cell and supporting all body structures. The fascial fibres tighten, thicken and shorten when there is an injury or trauma to the body, or poor postural problem. Pain and a restricted range of movement occurs, causing a structural misalignment.
The suction of the cups gliding over the affected area, lift the tissue and passively releases the fascial layers. Flexibility improves, pain subsides and increased range of movement happens. An increase of fluid movement and blood supply occurs in the painful area.
Helps with:
- Scars and adhesions
- Myofascial pain syndrome
- Fibromyalgia
- Sciatica
- Lower back pain
- Cellulite can also be treated
